Mark Scott Mooney is an Americana singer-songwriter
and guitarist  who has produced three studio albums.

Mooney’s 2026 studio release,
"I Wish I Would Have Known", is a deeply personal exploration of love and regrets, tranquility and hope. It brings together a wide-ranging collaboration of over a dozen accomplished artists from his many years in Americana radio.

Mooney’s passion is making his listener feel more deeply than words alone can convey. He hopes that you will find a welcoming community of the heart in his new release, "I Wish I Would Have Known".

Mark may be best known in the Americana world for his 14-year stint on the air at storied KPIG radio in Freedom, California, a station credited with originally naming and classifying “Americana” as a singular genre.

At KPIG radio, Mooney has interviewed, promoted and brought to the airwaves both new and legendary Americana talent. California born and bred, Mooney has deep ancestral roots in Hawai’i, where he currently resides and continues to host an Americana music program on KNKR radio. Mooney is deeply inspired by his primary influences: the careful craft of Rodney Crowell, the incisive lyrics of James McMurtry, and the expansive poetry of Joe Henry.

NPR describes Mooney’s sound as “soothing and cinematic,” “poetic without relying on cliches,” and “heartfelt and passionate.”

His voice has been called reminiscent of Neil Young and Cat Stevens. A seasoned performer, Mooney feels privileged to have shared stages with Little Feat’s Paul Barrere and Freed Tackett, Norton Buffalo, John Craigie, A.J. Croce, and Darden Smith, among many others.
